Andrew Weldon - The Age

Andrew Weldon - The Age

lensblr-network:

A few months ago I hit what has, to date, been the lowest point of my life. A point where I was literally and figuratively standing on the edge of a precipice considering what it would be like to fly gloriously for a few moments before ending up in a rather messy pile at the bottom. See I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t just do what people were saying and stay positive, why I couldn’t just shrug it off and go back to daily life. Society never told me that it was okay to not be okay. And that’s something society will never tell you. That it’s okay to be depressed. It’s okay to lose your temper. It’s okay to feel down. I’m not saying that you should accept it as it is and just stay that way, but rather accept that these are things we will go through, that shit DOES happen. And that’s okay, that’s part of life, and the best part is that things will get better.

So the next time you’re sitting at the bottom of a stairwell bawling your eyes out, the next time you stand numbly by the corner feeling only the smoke that enters your lungs. Don’t think about the future, just stay in the moment. Be sad. Be angry. Be jealous. Because things will change, and that is one hope that will never be crushed. That things will change.

Refugees and Oz ‘Security’

Rant on:
Thanks to smoke screening and fear mongering by the Pollies hand in hand with our totally useless media, we are being brainwashed into equating ‘terrorism’ with ‘boat people’. Not only that, we are being bullsh*tted into thinking that ‘boat people’ are ‘illegal’ immigrants.
Our PM today is ramping up our national security measures, and at the forefront of the media’s attention is the ‘issue’ of ‘illegal immigrants’. Our nation is having it’s heart ripped from it, bloody and beating, on the alter of fear and discrimination.
I’m proud to be Australian, but I’m deeply ashamed of our representatives in Canberra.
Rant off.
